Jess Quinlan is a poet and essayist writing in the Shenandoah Valley. She was trained out of the Hollins University MFA program. Her work dwells in the landscapes and people of her native Virginia, seeking purpose in the live wire of history that still smokes in those spaces. Recently, she was the recipient of the Graybeal-Gowen Prize for Virginia Poets.
